Dr Duan
Dr Shujun Duan has extensive clinical experience and has been practising Traditional Chinese Medicine (‘TCM’) for more than thirty years. During this time she has provided relief and help to many patients.
Her philosophy includes the integration of psychological counselling into the treatment process thereby enabling individuals to release deep-seated emotional burdens, an approach which is therapeutic and has assisted in achieving excellent results.
In addition to this exploration of emotional well-being Dr Duan draws upon the theory of meridians and collaterals and incorporates a range of classical techniques including acupuncture, herbal medicine, Tuina massage, cupping, gua sha, and moxibustion.
It is not surprising therefore that those people she has treated have taken an interest in her work and sought apprenticeships with her in learning and applying gua sha and Tuina massage.
More than one hundred students from Europe, China and the Southern Hemisphere have been taught by her, all enthusiasts of TCM. Some of those students have already progressed to become accomplished practitioners in their own right.
It will be obvious from the above that Dr Duan has dedicated herself to the clinical practice and study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), focusing on internal diseases and external treatments. She is driven to share her skills with everyone, empowering them to become their own healthcare providers and fostering the growth of TCM professionals.
This approach is enshrined within the business philosophy of the Shu Jun Health and Wellness Centre, which Dr Duan founded as her principal therapeutic clinic, and which is rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and a desire to promote TCM techniques.
